Carpet Deodorizer

10 drops tea tree oil
20 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops lemon essential oil
1 box of baking soda

Add the baking soda to a large bowl and then add the essential oils. Be sure to mix the oils into the baking soda well. Since lemon essential oil is normally yellow, it is essential that it be mixed well into the baking soda so that no undiluted lemon oil stains your carpet. This blend may be adapted to use your favourite essential oils, but strive to add essential oils that offer antibacterial and disinfectant properties to give the deodorizer an added benefit (the oils in the blend work to accomplish that). After you have blended the oils into the baking soda seal tight and set aside for 24 hours, then sprinkle on carpet and let set for 15 minutes, then vacuum up. This deodorizer can be stored in a glass jar or airtight container.
You can, also, drop several drops of essential oil on a cloth and put it in the collecting bag of your vacuum.

20—25 drops essential oil (shke or mix well until oils are thoroughly absorbed)

They will sparkle like jewels if you add a teaspoon of glycerine.
Salt melts and softens the water, the glycerine will moisturise your skin and the colour will vanish.

Fresh Gel Air Fresheners

Small, empty baby food jars
Food colouring
Essential oil of your choice
Plain gelatine
Decorations for jars

Gather a few small jars—baby food jars are perfect . Make sure you remove all the labels and clean them really well.
Heat 2 cups of water in a big pot until its nearly boiling. Add 8 envelopes of plain gelatine and stir until dissolved.
Remove the mixture from the heat and pour in two additional cups of room temperature water—stir until well mixed.
Decide what scents you want for your fresh gel air freshener to be. You can get great smelling potpourri scents from a craft store, like sandalwood, blueberry, lavender or musk. The amount of gelatine in this recipe is enough for 8 small fresh gel air fresheners. Just remember, these are for smelling not for eating.
Pour about a Tablespoon liquid scent or flavour extract into the jar—use a little extra if you want a really strong smelling air freshener or less if you want a mild one. Then add 7 or 8 drops of food colouring!
Ladle the gelatine mixture into jars and fill them to the top. Give them a stir, and then set them aside overnight to let them set. (Don’t put them in the fridge because your food will soak up the smell).
When your fresh gel air fresheners are set, decorate the jars using fabric, wrapping paper, ribbon and stickers. Place on in any room where you’d like a fresh scent: your bedroom, the kitchen, the bathroom, etc.
