Hints and Tips

Add 2—3 drops of lemon essential oil to a cleaning cloth to wipe over surfaces and act as a deodoriser in the home.

Place a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a dish of hot water over a radiator to disinfect a room.

Add 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil to a hot bath to relieve congestion during a cough or cold.

Add 12 drops of jasmine essential oil to the wood for a fire before you light it. This will scent the room.

Add 2 drops jasmine essential oil to a basin of warm water for a final face rinse after cleansing.

Leave to dry naturally to help to soften the skin.

Inhale 5 drops sandalwood essential oil in 1 litre boiling water to clear congestion.

Atomizers (Sprays and Spritzers) - use glass, not plastic. Fill with distilled, purified or spring water. If bottled water is not available, use cooled boiled water. Add 3—6 drops of essential oil to each 30mls of water. Make up only enough for immediate use and re-fill as required. Use to fragrance a room or refresh the face.

Footbaths—add 4—8 drops of essential oil to a bowl of warm to hot water. Soak for about 15 minutes to refresh the feet.

To perfume your lingerie add 1 drop of your chosen essential oil to the final rinse water of the washing. Try rose, geranium, jasmine, neroli or ylang ylang. Take care to ensure the oils is well dispersed in the water and does not touch the lingerie directly.
To give a fresh aroma to towels add 1 drop of lemon essential oil in the rinse water or sprinkle a drop in the clothes dryer.

A drop of lavender essential oil in the final rinse will impart a lingering restful aroma to sheets and bed linen.

Try a little patchouli or cedarwood essential oil on a cotton ball to protect clothes from moths. But use sparingly or the smell could be too heavy.
