Aromatherapy Recipes - Part 1

Relaxation Bath Salts

You’ll need
2 cups sea or Epsom salts
6 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops orange essential oil
3 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
2 drops clary sage essential oil

Miscellaneous items: large mixing bowl, large metal spoon, sealable bag or tightly covered containers.

Instructions:
This recipe makes 2 cups of salts

Mix all the ingredients together in the mixing bowl. Note: Make sure the oils are well mixed with the salt to avoid skin irritation.

Place the salts in a sealable plastic bag or container until you want to use them.

To use, sprinkle approx ¼ cup (or more, if desired) in your bath. Note do not use if you have pen wounds, as the salt will sting.

Variations:
To make bath salts with oils that help reduce cellulite, follow the instructions above but substitute these essential oils:

6 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops grapefruit essential oil
4 drops juniper essential oil
4 drops cypress essential oil

Spritzers
Use glass, not plastic bottle. Fill with distilled, purified or spring water. Add 3-6 drops of essential oil to each 30mls of water. Make up only enough for immediate use and refill as required. Use to refresh the face.

Dry or sensitive skin: use rose, chamomile essential oil.

Or whatever oil that you like. Rose essential oil is quite nice. You can also use to spray your room with. Lavender oil would be perfect to relax with before you go to bed at night.

Decongestant Chest Rub
Combine a base of 4 teaspoons petroleum jelly with 5 drops each of peppermint, eucalyptus, and basil, thyme oil. Use to keep air passages clear during the night for more restful sleep.
